PROJECT BRIEF
The Rainbow BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) App in Pune is a dedicated app helps users locate nearby bus stops, check real-time bus arrival updates, and track buses on Rainbow BRTS and PMPML routes. It also includes features like trip planning, digital ticketing, and accessibility options to ensure ease of use for all commuters.
The goal was to simplify public transit through clean UI, intuitive navigation, and smart features that encourage more people to choose buses over private vehicles.

BRAND LOGO

The logo represents a peacock, India’s national bird, sybolizing beauty, pride, and cultural identity. I chose the peacock to reflect both tradition and movement, aligning with the idea of graceful and efficient public transportation.
The use of vibrant rainbow colors stands for diversity, inclusivity, and energy capturing the spirit of a modern city on the move. Each color transition represents a seamless travel experience, while also highlighting the wide range of commuters the BRTS serves. The design combines cultural symbolism with a fresh, modern look to reflect the vision of a smarter and more connected Pune.
BRAND TYPOGRAPHY

The typography in the Rainbow BRTS logo is designed in English but styled to resemble the Devanagari script, giving it a subtle resemblance to Hindi lettering. This blend reflects the local flavor of Pune while keeping the brand accessible to a wider audience.
It creates a cultural connection with native commuters while maintaining clarity and modernity.
The rainbow color gradient used across the logo symbolizes diversity, inclusivity, and movement key values of a vibrant public transport system. Each color shift represents different walks of life coming together, and the smooth flow of the gradient reflects the seamless, connected experience that the app and BRTS aim to provide.

WHY?
As someone who grew up in Pune, I’ve always seen how public transportation can either empower or frustrate daily commuters. The Rainbow BRTS system had the right infrastructure but lacked a modern, intuitive way for users to engage with it. This project was my opportunity to use design as a tool for public good to create a smart transit app that makes commuting easier, reduces confusion, and improves the daily experience of thousands of riders. It allowed me to blend my passion for UX/UI design, branding, and real-world impact into one comprehensive solution.
IMPACT
Rainbow BRTS is more than just a logo or a bus system it is a brand that brings people together and makes travel easier, safer, and more colorful for everyone in Pune. This brand book shows how the logo, colors, fonts, and design should be used to keep everything clear and consistent.
