Award of Excellence in Graphic Design
I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve been selected for the 'Award for Excellence in the MFA for Graphic Design & Media Innovation’ by School of Architecture & Design at New York Institute of Technology!
This award, conferred by the Digital Art and Design faculty, recognizes outstanding achievement in the MFA Graphic Design program and I’m truly humbled to receive it.
It means the world to be acknowledged for the work, growth, and passion I’ve poured into this journey. Thank you to all my amazing professors, mentors, and peers who have supported and inspired me along the way!
New York Tech's School of Arch. and Design Recognizes Tanay M. Govardhan
Tanay Makarand Govardhan is among the 89 students recognized for outstanding participation in student employment during the 2024-2025 academic year. This group of students dedicated more than 320 hours to experiential learning opportunities, extending across both on- and off-campus roles.
As part of New York Institute of Technology's 64th annual commencement, the School of Architecture and Design recognized outstanding members of the Class of 2025, including Tanay Makarand Govardhan, who received the M.F.A. in Graphic Design Faculty Award.

Graphic design and media innovation student Tanay Govardhan knows the difficulty residents and tourists in Pune, India, face when using public bus transportation. So, for his senior thesis, he decided to tackle a public service project: creating a mobile app and a brand guide for bus riders.
"Tanay Govardhan’s project required extensive research and a deep dive into human-centered design principles to create a seamless commuter experience. Through multiple iterations in branding and UX/UI design, I have watched Tanay become more methodical, research-driven, and detail-oriented. His approach to problem-solving has become sharper, his design thinking more structured.
